At the heart of our community
More than just a football club.
Adlington Junior Football Club (AJFC) is a thriving local grassroots football club that plays a vital role within our community. Founded in 2006, the club has continued to grow year after year and now proudly supports 27 teams, including four girls’ teams, all wearing the club’s famous red and black vertical stripes.
Our teams play home fixtures at King George Playing Fields, Jubilee Park and Wigan Lane, providing opportunities for hundreds of local children to enjoy football in a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment. From Reception age right through to Under-18s, AJFC offers a pathway for young players of all abilities to develop their skills, make friends and enjoy being part of a team.

Volunteer run
As a not-for-profit organisation, AJFC is run entirely by dedicated volunteers. Coaches, committee members and facilities helpers all give their time so children can participate in grassroots football.
Clubhouse life
King George Playing Fields is home to our clubhouse. The cafe opens every Saturday morning for players, parents and visitors, and the main hall is available for parties, meetings, training and community events.
Safe development
The welfare and development of our players are at the heart of everything we do. Coaches are DBS checked and hold the appropriate FA coaching qualifications.
Everyone welcome
AJFC brings people together, promotes healthy lifestyles and creates lifelong memories for local children and families. Players, coaches, volunteers and supporters are all part of the AJFC family.
